Project: IN-548
Chengalpattu Child Development Center
60 km south of Chennia (India)
Our team members have a chance to meet with the kids! They know some English. Some questions the kids ask: "What's your name?" "Will you sing a song?" "Do you have a family?"

This is 11 year old "Sheeba". She was one of the children who gave their testimony today. Her father had passed away some time ago. Tears were streaming down her face as she told us that all she has... is Compassion International.

This is a child's home near the Compassion project in Chengalpattu. This home is a little bigger than the ones we saw in the city of Chennai. The thatched roof line is taller. There is electricity, an extended covered porch and a fence to keep the goats from escaping.
The rural community also ministers to a leper colony just outside the center.

These two brothers both are sponsored through Compassion International. The father has abondoned the family. The mother of the family sells milk from the family's one cow
making about a dollar a day...

These college students were given a chance at improving their lives years ago through Compassion's Child Development Centers. Levania, John, Rachel, Franklin, Jolee and Chettrandra are now in the LDP Program. Traditional sponsorship ends at age 18, but new sponsors can assist young adults.
Rachel is majoring in Sociology, John mechanical engineering and Franklin wants to get a PhD on day!
